My New Job

Hello all,

So I have been in Red Deer, Alberta for a little over 3 weeks now and I have finally gotten a job offer. Well, I should correct myself, I have finally received a satisfactory job offer. I will be starting as a furniture salesman for Ashley’s Home Furnishings early next week.

I have had several interviews lately, and still have a few to go to during the rest of this week. This morning I had an phone interview with Staples, tomorrow I have an interview with Zeller’s for an assistant manager postions and Friday I have an interview with Investor’s Group to be a Financial Planner.

I am very interested in financial planning, and would very much like to pursue a career in that field. Hopefully that interview will go well and I will get some valuable connections that I can use in the near future.

I was interested in a position with the local Ford dealership, but they were unprofessional with me by not returning my phone call after stating they would. I’m just glad that Ashley’s Home Furnishings has accepted me. After being in Saint John, New Brunswick for so long without any valuable leads on employment opportunities, it’s nice to get so many quality interviews on promising positions.

Overall, I enjoy living here in Red Deer, it’s nice to be able to see family and have people to talk to. Tomorrow night I have to pick up Robyn from Calgary Airport. Hopefully the roads will be fine, since we’ve had a major storm cell here in Red Deer that has dumped a lot of snow on us in the past 5 days.
